Groundwater Modeling Reports (GMR)

Groundwater Modeling Reports are prepared by the Modeling Unit of ADWR's Hydrology Division. The reports document the simulation of Arizona's water supply and the future demands it may encounter for various regions of the State.  Reports typically include information on the development of conceptual models, input data, model calibration, model results, and interpretation of groundwater flow models or updates to existing models. The primary purpose of developing the groundwater flow models is to 1) better understand the regional groundwater-flow systems; and, 2) serve as a projection tool for understanding future hydrologic conditions.

Hydrologic Monitoring Reports (HMR)

Hydrologic Monitoring Reports (HMRs) are used to provide the public - including the private sector, as well as other local, state, and federal agencies - with information on the progress made by the Hydrology Division in both implementing Comprehensive Hydrologic Monitoring Plans within the Active Management Areas (AMAs) as well as comprehensive hydrologic monitoring summaries of Strategic Planning Areas per the Arizona Water Initiative.  These reports present surface water, groundwater, pumpage, precipitation, recharge, and well information that has been compiled or developed by ADWR for an AMA.

Statewide

Statewide Hydrologic Monitoring Report 2012

This report provides data and analysis of Arizona’s groundwater conditions over the last two decades. The period analyzed includes a time of significant variability in groundwater use trends both inside and outside Arizona’s Active Management Areas (AMAs), and covers the first 20 years of Central Arizona Project (CAP) water deliveries for direct use and recharge in central Arizona. The last 20 years also includes an extended drought period that has affected groundwater and surface water resources throughout the state.

Statewide/Basin Sweep Summary

ADWR Basin Sweeps and Bulk Data Collection Efforts By Subbasin and Calendar Year (2020)

This report shows above average data collection periods within groundwater basins/subbasins for a given year, which are commonly associated with basin sweeps. A basin sweep is an intensive effort to measure as many wells as necessary in a specific basin or subbasin in order to provide a comprehensive picture of the groundwater system. The data in these tables are represented by calendar year (Jan 1st – Dec 31st).

Water Level Change Map Series (WLCMS)

Water Level Change Map Series (WLCMS) reports are prepared by the Hydrology Division of ADWR and are intended for quick release to provide hydrologic information and data to the public with only limited interpretation.  WLCMS reports typically include a map and a general overview of water levels and groundwater conditions within a basin or sub-basin between the last two periods of water level data collection.
