Mission
ADWR’s Hydrology Division performs a variety of activities in support of the Office of the Director, other ADWR divisions and the public. The Division's main responsibilities include:
- Collecting hydrologic data and managing the following programs: statewide groundwater level monitoring, statewide land subsidence monitoring, and Continuously Operating Reference Station Network (AZCORS)
- Conducting hydrologic assessments and quantifying statewide water resources information to aid in future planning
- Developing groundwater flow models and predictive water-use scenarios in support of water management policies and decisions
Groundwater Modeling
The Groundwater Modeling Section provides support in making water management decisions by developing groundwater models, performing GIS analysis of hydrologic data and publishing related reports.

Field Services
The Field Services Section provides support in making water management decisions by collecting, analyzing and interpreting hydrologic data. This section is comprised of the Basic Data Unit, Automated Groundwater Monitoring Unit and the Geophysics/Surveying Unit.
