Willcox AMA In-Person Application Public Workshop

On April 2, 2026, the Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) will hold an in-person only public application workshop at the Cochise College Willcox Center for the Willcox Active Management Area (AMA). ADWR staff will have paper copies of grandfathered groundwater right application forms and will be available to answer questions. Following the Application Workshop, ADWR will hold in-person only open office hours to assist customers with grandfathered groundwater right applications. During this time, customers will also have the option of dropping off their applications in person.

THE DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR GRANDFATHERED GROUNDWATER RIGHTS IN THE WILLCOX AMA IS APRIL 8, 2026.

PURSUANT TO SECTION 45-476(A), ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES, APPLICATIONS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE. AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 45-477.01, ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES, A PERSON WHO FAILS TO APPLY FOR A CERTIFICATE OF GRANDFATHERED RIGHT WITHIN AN AMA WAIVES AND RELINQUISHES ANY RIGHT TO WITHDRAW OR RECEIVE AND USE GROUNDWATER PURSUANT TO A GRANDFATHERED RIGHT.
