Willcox AMA In-Person Application Open Office Hours

On April 7, 2026, the Arizona Department of Water Resources (“ADWR”) will host in-person only open office hours at the Cochise College Willcox Center to assist customers with grandfathered groundwater right applications for the Willcox AMA. ADWR staff will be available to answer questions regarding applications for grandfathered groundwater rights. ADWR staff will have paper copies of applications available as well. During this time, customers will also have the option of dropping off their applications in person.

THE DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR GRANDFATHERED WATER RIGHTS IN THE WILLCOX AMA IS APRIL 8, 2026. PURSUANT TO SECTION 45-476(A), ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES, APPLICATIONS CANNOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE.

AS PROVIDED IN SECTION 45-477.01, ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES, A PERSON WHO FAILS TO APPLY FOR A CERTIFICATE OF GRANDFATHERED RIGHT WITHIN AN AMA WAIVES AND RELINQUISHES ANY RIGHT TO WITHDRAW OR RECEIVE AND USE GROUNDWATER PURSUANT TO A GRANDFATHERED RIGHT.
