Perennial/Intermittent Streams and Springs in the San Bernardino Valley Basin

Minor springs with discharge rates and date of measurement, and the total number of springs in the basin are shown in Table 3.11-2.  There are no major springs identified in this basin. The locations of perennial and intermittent streams are shown on Figure 3.11-5.   Descriptions of data sources and methods for intermittent and perennial reaches and springs are found in Volume 1, Appendix A.  Additional information on surface water in this basin can be found in Section 3.11.4 - Surface Water Conditions and Section 3.0.2 - Surface Water Hydrology.

  • There is one perennial stream, Black Draw, located near the border with Mexico.

  • A number of intermittent streams are located on the eastern boundary of the basin.

  • There is one minor spring in the basin, House Spring.  The listed discharge rate may not be indicative of current conditions. 

  • The total number of springs identified by the USGS varies from 6 to 10, depending on the database reference.
